Who this course is for:
- The certified diver looking to experience scuba diving in the chosen topic safely by applying what they learn during this course
Course prerequisites:
- SDI Open Water Scuba Diver, SDI Junior Open Water Diver, or equivalent or current enrollment in one of those courses
- Minimum age 18, 10 with parental consent (depending on the course!)

Minimum certification requirements:
- Demonstrate mature and sound judgment concerning dive emergency planning and execution
- Complete all open water requirements safely and efficiently
- Satisfactorily complete the written examination located in the Manual with a passing score of 80%, followed by 100% remediation by the Instructor
